Current Clariberry bottles are shelf-stable before opening and must be refrigerated after opening.
Does Clariberry elderberry syrup need refrigeration?
Not while unopened. We now use a hot-bottling process developed for shelf stability. Current bottles have a six-month unopened shelf life, with no refrigeration required until you open them.
The date and instructions on your bottle are the reference for that bottle. A six-month shelf life is not a promise of an additional six months from the day your parcel arrives.
Refrigerate after opening
Once opened, keep your bottle refrigerated and follow its label instructions. The unopened shelf-life statement does not apply after opening. We do not publish a separate after-opening duration here; contact us with your bottle details if you need help interpreting the label.
Why older information may mention refrigeration
Clariberry previously used a refrigerated process. We have moved our current bottles to a shelf-stable hot-bottling process. If you have an older bottle with instructions to keep it refrigerated, continue to follow those instructions. The new storage guidance does not change the storage requirements of older batches.
Planning an online order
Unopened shelf stability makes it easier to order for delivery and keep an unopened bottle ready for your next recipe. Check the bottle date when planning how much to buy. Open one bottle at a time and refrigerate it after opening.
We offer shipping across Canada and free local pickup in Oshawa (Columbus). Your checkout shows available shipping methods after you enter your address.
Questions about a particular bottle?
If a seal is broken, the bottle is leaking or anything about the bottle seems wrong, do not use it; contact us with your order and bottle details. Our returns policy explains how we help with damaged or incorrect orders.
Contains honey: do not give Clariberry to children under 12 months. The syrup is a food, not a medicinal product.
